Lisa Pearson's experience with the State of Texas not doing their jobs and and DADS turing a blind eye on abuse and neglect cases is not anything new. Adult Daycare & Activity Center know how to manipulate the system and the State of Texas pays millions of dollars to have these Centers full of Special Needs Adults who like Cattle has become commodities for the state used by the Adult Daycare's bring in money for little to no work to meet the clients needs. In Texas clients, do have rights but they don't have the right to complain. Unfortunately, these centers have the right to discharge you for complaints or contacting the media or calling state regulators on abuses. I was once told by in investigator that he is not a (Client Advocate). My feelings about this is as a client, parent, or legal guardian your on your own and at the complete mercy of the facilities and their employees. They can discharge the clients for any reason they want and don't give you a reason why they doing it. They say, "Sorry I can't meet the clients needs!" They do this to avoid to do the job that the state pays them your tax dollars for them to do. The problem with this dangerous cycle that it breeding grounds for abuse and neglect of all kinds.
If an employee get away with something the will keep doing it and the clients pays the cost every time. DADS employees say they are not advocates for clients. If they are not advocates then we as Clients, Parents, and and members of Society we must bring awareness to the problems with the Adult Daycare & Activity Centers! Stand up! Speak out! Bring Awareness! #DisabledLivesMatter!
